Struggling to make the break from relying too much on reference images for some of the sketch cards I've been messing around with.  I tend to fall into a habit of attempting to capture too much from the reference images even when I'm trying to loosen things up to present things/people in my own style. It may be that I just need to put more time into free sketching since I'm still very rusty after a long time of not drawing. Since I don't have much time to really sit down and draw yet I've really been getting the itch latley, I've decided to mess around with some sketch cards.  The small 2.5 x 3.5 work surfaces have been a bit of a challenge, but I've been trying to take the "sketch" part fairly literally in order to get something actually done. Rather than going with superheroes, I've been more attracted to Pop Culture icons - particularly Rock Stars and Musicians of the 60s and 70s.
